Lourdes Grotto Baguio!

The Lourdes Grotto is a Catholic shrine and place of meditation located on Mirador Hill in the western part of Baguio. Inside the grotto is the image of Our Lady of Lourdes.
As it is in many other similar shrines, the grotto was constructed to commemorate the numerous visions of the Virgin Mary by a 14-year old French girl named Bernadette Soubirous. This happened in 1858 from February 11 to July 16 in the town of Lourdes which is in southwestern France. The visions were declared authentic by the Pope in 1862 and this also led to the authorization of the cult of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto is usually crowded during Holy Week.
To reach the shrine the visitor must climb 252 steps. Devotees who go up to the grotto to pray usually light up a candle or offer a flower at an altar below the image.
From the Grotto, you will see an excellent view of the city.
Don't forget to visit Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto when you go to Baguio!

North Pine Transient House Baguio

We are looking for a cozy place in Baguio and a friend of mine recommended this place. Northpine Transient House. They actually have three transient houses but we stayed at transient 3. It is located at Upper Scout Barrio, Baguio City. We paid 300 only per head which I think is really worth it.
Outside:

Our room
It has a really cozy bed and a window beside with. From the window you will see Pine trees. There is cable television, cabinet, sink and a very nice toilet and bath with hot and cold shower.
The stairs with unique decoration. (I really like it!)
They have an open space that can be used for picnic wherein you can also grill food.
You will see this before entering the 3 rooms at the second floor. At the back is a small kitchen with small refrigerator.
 View from the veranda.
My thoughts:
  • The place was really clean and nice. If you really want a quiet place to rest, then you will love this place. At 7pm, the lights from other houses near the transient house were already lights off. It is located near Camp John Hay.
  • What I did not like about this place is that it is too far from Tourist spots, you need to ride a cab to go other places. No fast food and restaurants near the house.

People's Park in the Sky

People's Park in The Sky is one of the famous destination in Tagaytay. Entrace fee is Php30.
It was originally intended by the former first lady Imelda Marcos in 1979 as a guesthouse for Ronald Reagan, which was the California Governor at that time, who never arrived. The half-finished Palace in the Sky became the People's Park in the Sky after the People Power Revolution.

You can either ride a jeep or go up to reach the supposed Mansion.

At the back is a wishing well (but it was closed) :(
There he is enjoying every minute of it!
Make sure to visit People's Park in the Sky before 7:00am to experience the thickness of fog and coldness of air. The area is great for taking pictures and of course a fantastic view.
